Handle, acrylic and pencil on Wood
2010
This work is generated from the idea of a Chinese folk adage :
“竹門對竹門,木門對木門”. It means well matching couples from the same family background – rich with the rich and poor with the poor. But this time is “竹門對木門”. The cicadas represented the bamboo door while the fly represented the wooden side. When the too panel combines the word “ren” and the “men” brings to the word “men” which means together and a kind of collective motion.
